Ondine

Sgraffito Vase, 2014

The vase Ondine was created during a two-week internship at Solène DUMAS' Ceramic'art workshop in Strasbourg. This vase was modelled with dark clay and by using the clay-coil technique. After drying the dark clay, a light-coloured slip was applied to the of the vase body with a brush. To create a contrast between the two-tone colours of clay, I engraved a wave pattern onto the light-coloured surface with a fine tip.

Materials:
Dark clay, casting slip, engobe.
